Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you through our contact form, via email, via phone, via social media or via Zoom for one of the following reasons:

How we store your information

For clients- as above. For most services, the data will be kept in the EEA. However, some services (storage and accountancy) we store or transfer your personal data to companies in countries whose levels of data protection are deemed ‘adequate’ by the European Commission or are covered by if they are part of the EU-US Privacy Shield. This means that your personal data will be fully protected under the GDPR or to equivalent standards by law.
The security of your personal data is essential to us, and to protect your data, we take several important measures, including the following:
A. All Devices used to access details are password protected, with up to date internet security software and where available Two Factor authentication.
B. Our website has industry standard SSL to encrypt data from our site.
C. Your personal data is not stored on our website, it is merely transmitted to us via email and stored on our email service and our contact management system on devices except for comments left on the blog.
D. Communication Data is stored on our Email servers/cloud storage / Mobile phone.
E. Payment details – stored on cloud storage accountancy software such as Wave or through payment systems such as PayPal or Stripe.
F. Website security – Protects sites from access by anyone without permission to get on the site and being able to add potentially harmful files on the site.
How long we store your information
We keep your contact details for one month if no service is contracted or seven years if a service is contracted due to the law surrounding accounting procedure. We will then dispose of your information by deleting or shredding any hard copies of the data.
Sharing your information
We will not share any of your personal data with any third parties for any purposes, subject to the exceptions as stated below and for the performance of services contracted for.
In some limited circumstances, we may be legally required to share certain personal data, which might include yours, if we are involved in legal proceedings or complying with legal obligations, a court order, or the instructions of a government authority.
To enable us to provide a service to you we may need to provide your personal data to the following:
• Social media (including Facebook, Twitter, Google). Any data entered onto these systems the data is controlled by the platform and not Nikki Knight. Please be careful what information you provide to me on them.
• Online accountancy software.
